Kelsey Lengyel-Jacovich has been named the Coordinator of Athletic Operations at Connecticut College. Fran Shields, the Katherine Wenk Christoffers '45 Director of Athletics and Chair of the Physical Education, confirmed the hiring in August of 2013.

“We are pleased to welcome Kelsey to our department,” Shields said.  “She has broad experience in intercollegiate athletics, including event management, sports information and conference administration.  Kelsey did her graduate work at Springfield College, renowned for excellence in Division III athletics.  We are impressed with her energy and potential and we look forward to the many contributions she will make in this new position.”

At Springfield, Lengyel-Jacovich received her Master’s Degree from the nationally recognized Sport and Exercise Psychology program.  

Lengyel-Jacovich was the head coach of the Pride’s junior varsity women’s basketball team and was also an assistant coach for the Pride’s varsity program. She also assisted with the Springfield softball program for two years. 

Lengyel-Jacovich gained valuable experience in athletic operations as the graduate supervisor of events at Springfield.

Working in the community, Lengyel-Jacovich served in AmeriCorps as an Academic Coach for inner-city high school student-athletes in the City of Springfield. 

Prior to her arrival in Springfield, Lengyel-Jacovich worked as an intern with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. She assisted in the management, marketing and coordination of media relations for the 14 school Division II conference.

As an undergraduate student at Post University, Lengyel-Jacovich was a three-sport standout, lettering in basketball, tennis and softball. She was twice honored for her athletic excellence as the school’s Female Student Athlete of the Year.  

Lengyel-Jacovich also served as a sports information assistant during her senior year at Post.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Sport Management and Psychology.
