#7 Tufts University 4, Connecticut College 1 Lembo Supplies Second Half Score for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.—Rachel Terveer (London, Ohio) scored a goal in each half to lead the Tufts University field hockey team to a 4-1 victory at Connecticut College Saturday.

The seventh ranked Jumbos improved to 8-2 with a 4-2 record in the NESCAC, while the Camels fell to 4-6 with a 1-5 mark in conference play.

Mary Travers (Princeton, N.J.) and Dakota Sikes-Kelip (Monclair, N.J.) chipped in with scores for the visitors.

Bri Keenan (Greenland, N.H.) recorded five saves for  Tufts.

Connecticut College rookie midfielder Meghan Lembo (Southington, Conn.) supplied a second half score for the Camels.  Jill Dahrooge (Charlton, Mass.) assisted on the tally.

The Camels kept the game close in the first stanza, trailing by just a goal at the intermission.

But Terveer added an important insurance goal when she re-directed a ball into the back of the cage in the 58th minute of play.

Tufts held an 8-to-1 edge on corners in the triumph and had a 13-to-7 advantage in shots.

Ryley van der Velde (Louisville, Ky.) made seven saves for the hosts.

Sunday afternoon, the Camels will honor seniors Heidi Halsted (Mill Valley, Calif.) and Maggie Rakovic (Narragansett, R.I.) in a pre-game ceremony.
