#2 Bowdoin College 9, Connecticut College 1 Van der Velde Stops Eight Shots for Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Colleen Finnerty and Rachel Kennedy each netted hat tricks as the Bowdoin field hockey team collected a 9-1 win over visiting Connecticut College. 

The Polar Bears, currently ranked second in the country, improve to 11-1 (7-1 NESCAC) after downing the Camels (5-8, 1-7 NESCAC) on Saturday afternoon.  

Ryley Van der Velde started in goal on the opposite end and made eight saves for the Camels. Jenny Barrack closed out the game with one save.

Katlyn Paiva leads the Camels with seven goals scored and 15 points. Van der Velde is averaging 6.4 saves per game in her first full season as starter in the cage.
