HADLEY, Mass. – Senior Jacqueline Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. She is being recognized with the award for the first time of her career.
Murphy helped the Camels post two shutout victories this past week, which included a 4-0 win over Roger Williams and a 1-0 triumph against eighth-ranked Hamilton. She anchored a back line that yielded only one shot against Roger Williams and recorded two defensive saves in the win over the Continentals. Connecticut College scored 47 seconds into the game before Hamilton outshot the Camels by a 17-1 margin the rest of the way. Murphy notched both of her defensive saves at 51:45 and 55:20 during the second half to help preserve the win.
Connecticut College (3-4, NESCAC 1-3) will next host Trinity on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6:00 p.m.
