NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College men's basketball Head Coach Tom Satran has hired Shawn Hallahan and Mike McSloy, two new assistant coaches for 2013-14.

Hallahan is a 2011 graduate of Pennsylvania State University-Altoona.  He completed a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Springfield College in 2013.

As a graduate assistant coach at Springfield from 2011 through 2013, Hallahan helped the Pride to a 36-18 record, a 2013 appearance in the NCAA Tournament and back to back appearances in the NEWMAC championship game.

Prior to his arrival in Springfield, Hallahan served as a student-assistant coach at his alma-mater, Penn State-Altoona, from 2007-2011.

McSloy, a 2013 graduate of SUNY Maritime College, had an outstanding collegiate basketball career.

Over two seasons at Maritime, McSloy recorded 841 points while also pulling down 153 rebounds for the Privateers. He also shot 80% from the foul line.  McSloy was named to the Second Team All-Skyline Conference at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season.  He also served as team captain during his senior year.

Prior to his time with the Privateers, McSloy spent two years playing for Oswego St.

The Camels will open their regular season by hosting the Coaches Versus Cancer Tip-Off Tournament November 16-17 in New London.
