NEW LONDON, Conn.—Hunter Sabety poured in a game-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Tufts University men's basketball team to a 66-51 victory against Connecticut College Friday night.
Sabety was 8-for-14 from the field for the Jumbos, who improve their record to 10-8 with a 2-3 mark in the NESCAC. The Camels fall to 8-9 with a 1-4 record in conference action.
Stephen Haladyna chipped in with 14 points and five boards for the visitors while Oliver Cohen reached double-digits with 10 points for the winning side, shooting 3-for-4 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 at the charity stripe.
"We played hard and I was pleased with our effort but Tufts really dominated the paint," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said.
Tufts carried a 36-27 advantage into the break and built a 64-44 advantage in the second half en route to the conference triumph.
