NEW LONDON, Conn.—Junior forward Tim DiPretoro (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored twice in the closing 2:14 of regulation to pull Connecticut College within a goal but it was not quite enough as Manhattanville College held on for a 4-3 victory by skating off the closing 1:02 in an empty net situation.
The Valiants move to 4-4-1 with the triumph, while the Camels fall to 1-5 with the loss.
Connecticut College sophomore Joe Giordano (Ellington, Conn.) collected his team-leading sixth and seventh points of the season with a pair of assists for the hosts. Mike Martinez (Orchard Park, N.Y.) potted his first goal of the season in the second period.
Manhattanville College senior Jake Mooney (Toronto, Ontario) scored twice to lead the Valiants to the win. Teagan Waugh (Nanaimo, British Columbia) sandwiched a goal around a pair of assists for the victors.
Senior Brian Fleming (Saint John, New Brunswick) registered 23 saves in goal for the Valiants.
Connecticut College freshman Tim Cooney (Rocky Hill, Conn.) made 25 saves in the setback for the Camels.
Manhattanville held a slim 29-to-26 advantage in shots. The Valiants were 1-for-3 on their power play, while the Camels finished 1-for-6 with the man advantage.
