NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College junior forward Tim DiPretoro of Philadelphia, Pa. has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Hockey Player of the Week.
DiPretoro contributed three goals and four assists for the Camels last week.
DiPretoro earned the first assist on all three Camel goals in a 3-1 victory over previously undefeated Bowdoin on Friday night. On Saturday, DiPretoro helped the Camels erase a three-goal, third-period deficit to salvage a 5-5 tie with Colby, scoring a goal and assisting on the equalizer that was scored by JC Cangelosi (Estero, Fla.). Earlier in the week, he nearly erased a three-goal deficit in the third period against Manhattanville by scoring two goals before the team suffered a 4-3 loss.
Connecticut College Head Men's Hockey Coach Jim Ward was pleased to learn of the conference recognition for DiPretoro.
"Tim is a heart and soul player for the Camels," Coach Ward said. "He has been on a mission since the beginning of the season to be a difference maker for us. Tim is a proven leader and a great teammate and we are pleased that the league has recognized him as this week's NESCAC Player of the week!"
DiPretoro has accounted for three goals and seven assists to lead the Camels with 10 points in the early season.
In 49 games played in a Camel uniform DiPretoro has accounted for 33 points with 15 goals and 18 assists.
Off the ice, DiPretoro has been honored for his excellence in the classroom as a member of the NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team.
The Camels will resume play January 4, 2015 when they visit UMass-Boston for a 1:00 p.m. game against the Beacons in a first round matchup at the Codfish Bowl Tournament.
