Rodericks Becomes First Men’s Ice Hockey Player in School History to Earn Google Cloud Academic All-America Laurels

AUSTIN, Texas – Connecticut College's Connor Rodericks (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Men's At-Large Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The men's ice hockey goalie and economics major was chosen to the third team.

Rodericks is the first men's ice hockey player in program history as well as the first student-athlete who competes in any of the school's 10 standings sports to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition. He is also one of just eight men's ice hockey student-athletes, including the sport's only underclassman in the country, to win the award this season.

The Camels' primary netminder was the first student-athlete in program history to be named an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) All-American as well as the NESCAC Player of the Year. He helped the Camels record a program-best second place finish in the NESCAC standings by ranking tied for fourth nationally in save percentage (.937), tied for ninth in shutouts (3) and posting an impressive 2.16 goals against average this past winter.

Off the ice, Rodericks has become Green Dot certified and serves as a floor governor through residence life for freshman students. He is also a Love Your Melon Campus Crew member and has been elected to serve as the organization's Vice President next year as a junior. Furthermore, the ice hockey goalie has been involved with the Peggotty Investment Club as an analyst in the industrial sector.

This year's at-large team consists of student-athletes who excelled in golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling as well as in the classroom. Sports Information Directors from across the country nominated and voted for the winners.
