WORCESTER, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's rowing program competed at the New England Championships on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday. The Camels finished 23rd among 24 scoring teams at the all-day event.
Junior coxswain Hulan Bikales (Falmouth, Maine) guided the varsity eight group to a sixth-place finish and time of 6:51.419 among six boats in its initial heat before placing fourth among four boats in the final round in 7:09.625.
The second varsity eight, which was led by freshman coxswain Olivia Goodwin-Cook (Rockport, Maine), finished fifth in its first heat in 7:26.131 and then took third in its last race in 7:46.410.
Competing in the third varsity four race, freshman Maggie Curtis-Hardy (New York, N.Y.) piloted her boat to a ninth-place time of 6:51.208 in a time trial between the nine competing schools. The group then finished its last race in 8:27.123.
Connecticut College graduates only three seniors and will look to make significant strides forward with more than 20 letterwinners slated to return next season.
