WILLIMANTIC, Conn.--Ben Manoogian (Peabody, Mass.) and Pat Devlin (Washington Crossing, Pa.) scored first half goals to lead the Connecticut College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Eastern Connecticut State University Tuesday.
The Camels improved their record to 7-2 with their third straight win, while the Warriors fell to 4-6-1 with the loss.
Freshman Manny Balbontin (New York, N.Y.) assisted on Devlin's goal in the 44th minute that proved to be the game-winner.
Senior net-minder Mark Cameron (Bethesda, Md.) collected three of his four saves in the first stanza.
Sophomore forward Xavier Doran (Hebron, Conn.) netted his second goal of the season in the second stanza to break the shutout for the Warriors.
Rookie net-minder Ryan Murphy (Cromwell, Conn.) finished with four stops in the loss for ECSU.
Devlin entered today's game ranked 14th in the nation with 1.14 goals scored per game while Manoogian was tied for 32nd nationally with .57 assists per contest. Devlin is leading the NESCAC with nine goals scored and has dished out three assists to rank #1 in the conference with his 21 points. Ousmane Dieng (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Manoogian share the league lead with four assists each.
Senior Mark Cameron (Bethesda, Md.) has posted a .88 goals against average to rank sixth in the NESCAC.
The Camels will visit Bates College for a 2:00 p.m. NESCAC game Saturday in Lewiston, Maine.
