Tufts University 1, Connecticut College 0 Camels Out-Shoot Jumbos 10-to-8

NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior forward Gaston Becherano (Hollywood, Fla.) netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the fifth minute and the goal stood up as Tufts University held on for a 1-0 triumph at Connecticut College Saturday.

The Jumbos improved their record to 6-3-2 and are 4-1-2 in conference play. The Camels fell to 8-4 while evening their mark at 4-4 in the NESCAC. 

Freshman Zachary Trevorrow (Honolulu, Hawaii) earned the assist for the visitors.

Senior keeper Scott Greenwood (Weymouth, Mass.) stopped five shots to earn the shutout. 

Mark Cameron (Bethesda, Md.) made one save in the loss for the Camels.

Connecticut College out-shot the visitors 10-to-8 and that included a 7-to-3 edge in the second half.

Pat Devlin (Washington Crossing, Pa. nearly tied the game in the 78th minute but Greenwood was able to make a diving save on his header. The Camels had one last chance as time was expiring but Greenwood made one last save to close out the victory for the Jumbos.
