NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College men's squash team cruised to an 8-1 victory in their home opener Saturday.

Senior Matt Lillie (Weston, Mass.) provided a major highlight in the triumph. Playing in the #1 slot on the ladder, Lillie stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to grind out a five-set thriller, notching an 11-4 triumph in the fifth set.

Michael Rodriguez (New Haven, Conn.) secured an 11-6, 11-1, 11-6 triumph in the third slot on the ladder. John Dunham (New Haven, Conn.) chipped in with an 11-3, 11-1, 11-7 victory at four. Samuel Piller (Charlottesville, Va.) earned an 11-9, 11-3, 11-3 win at five.

In the sixth slot, Benjie Osajie (Boston, Mass.) cruised to an 11-1, 11-2, 11-5 win. Rafael Gamba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dominated in an 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 victory at seven. Jay Carrasquillo (Bronx, N.Y. (11-3, 11-0, 11-5) and Louis Feingold (Brookline, Mass.) (11-4, 11-2, 11-2) earned clean sweeps in their outings.
