Men’s Squash Splits With Hamilton and Williams to Commence 2018-19 Campaign

CLINTON, N.Y. – Four freshmen recorded their first victories as collegians in leading the Connecticut College men's squash team to a 9-0 triumph over Hamilton on Saturday. The Camels also dropped a 9-0 decision to Williams to split against its competition over the opening weekend of action.

MD Jawad won by set scores of 12-10, 11-2 and 11-8 from the No. 1 position to set the tone from the top of the lineup. Billy Fleurima rallied to take down his opponent at No. 2 in a five-set thriller by scores of 11-13, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7 and 11-9, while Tommy Whittemore and Chris Mach won in straight sets from the No. 8 and No. 9 spots.

Connecticut College (1-1) will next trek to Wesleyan to compete at a two-day tournament on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
