NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College men's swimming team opened its season with a 191-97 victory against Middlebury College at Lott Natatorium today.
The Camels won 10 individual events and a pair of relays in the Whaling City this afternoon.
Junior All-American George Tilneac (New York, N.Y.) posted wins in both the 100 butterfly and the 200 yard freestyle with respective times of 52.40 seconds and 1:45.40. Sophomore Andrew Eigner (Cheshire, Conn.) prevailed as the winner in both the 100 and 200 yard backstroke with times of 54.34 and 1:58.68.
Senior Niko Brosnihan (Troy, N.Y.) posted a winning time of 22.19 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle. Freshman Adam Ambrosey (Milford, Conn.) checked in with a victory in 1:02.29 in the 100 yard breast. In the 200 yard butterfly, senior Stephen Skaperdas (New Canaan, Conn.) triumphed in 1:57.21.
In the 100 yard free, Trebor Lawton (Gorham, Maine) won in 49.24 seconds. Freshman John Easton (Oreland, Pa.) secured a victory with a time of 2:16.92 in the 200 yard breast. Junior All-American AJ Pite (Orange, Conn.) won the 200 yard individual medley in 1:58.90.
Brosnihan, Lawton, Tilneac and Fothergill earned another Camel win with a time of 1:27.25 in the 200 yard free relay.
