NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Wesleyan University men's tennis team posted a 6-2 victory against Connecticut College in a NESCAC match played on the rubber courts in Luce Field House Saturday.
It was third consecutive win for the Cardinals, who improved their record to 7-2 in the early season with a 2-1 mark in the NESCAC. The Camels fell to 4-2 with a 0-1 mark in conference action.
Michael Liu (Basking Ridge, N.J.) picked up a victory at #2 singles to lead the Cardinals in the win. Stephen Monk (New York, N.Y.), Michael King (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Zachary Brint (Highland Park, Ill.) all contributed with victories in their respective slots from 4-6 on the ladder.
Connecticut College junior Josh Suneby (Wellesley, Mass.) rallied to take a victory at #1 singles, outlasting his opponent in a 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 decision.
Jonathan Kraiger (Springfield, Vt.) collected a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at third singles for the hosts.
