Connecticut College 6, Babson College 3 Tucker Posts Victory in Final Home Match for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Jonathan Kraiger (Springfield, Vt.) cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number three singles to lead the Connecticut College men's tennis team to a 6-3 triumph against Babson College on the South Tennis Courts Tuesday. 

The Camels improved their record to 6-7 with the triumph, while the Beavers slipped to 9-8 with the setback.

Jonathan Deeter (La Quinta, Calif.) had a big day for the hosts, registering a 6-1, 6-1 win at number four singles. 

Jonathan Sokolsky (Great Barrington, Mass.) posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number five while senior Will Tucker (London, U.K.) checked in with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at number six singles in the final home match of his career.

Junior JC Cangelosi (Estero, Fla.) and Josh Suneby (Wellesley, Mass.) secured an 8-6 win at second doubles for the winning side. Doug Butturini (Sarasota, Fla.) and Daniel Maffa (Lexington, Mass.) triumphed in an 8-5 decision at third doubles for the Camels. 

Babson College sophomore Roberto Perez  (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) earned a 6-1, 6-0 straight set victory to lead the visitors at number one singles. Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) checked in with a 7-6, 6-4 triumph at number two singles for the Beavers.

Vu and Perez posted a 9-7 victory at number one doubles for the visitors.
