EASTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College men's tennis team opened its season with the Stonehill College doubles invitational today.
It was a terrific start to the 2015-16 campaign for Head Coach Chris O'Brien's squad, who won two out of three brackets against some of the top teams in the region.
Kraiger and Sachs posted an 8-1 victory against Eastern Nazarene College in the first round. In the second round, the Camels dropped a close 9-8 decision to Stonehill, falling 9-7 in the tie-breaker to the Skyhawks. They closed out the day with an 8-6 triumph against the College of the Holy Cross.
Sophomore Ethan Hecker (pictured, Wayland, Mass.) and freshman Will Cannon won their bracket at second doubles. The Camel duo secured a 9-8 win against the Crusaders from Holy Cross. They topped Eastern Nazarene and Stonehill with identical 9-7 scores.
Sophomore Patrick Farrell (Smithtown, N.Y.) and freshman Charlie Williams coasted to victory in their bracket defeating Holy Cross and Stonehill with the same score of 8-2 and blanking Eastern Nazarene in an 8-0 triumph.
