Connecticut College 5, Hobart College 4 Williams Leads Camels to First Win of Season

ORLANDO, Fla.--Freshman Charlie Williams (pictured, Mercer Island, Wash.) secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory at number two singles to lead the Connecticut College men's tennis team to a 5-4 victory against Hobart in Central Florida Thursday night.

The Camels improved their record to 1-2 with the win, while the Statesmen slipped to 2-4 with the setback.

Freshman Will Cannon (Fairfield, Conn.) chipped in with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at fifth singles. In the sixth slot, sophomore Ethan Hecker (Wayland, Mass.) contributed with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph for Head Coach Chris O'Brien's squad.

Williams and junior Daniel Maffa (Lexington, Mass.) joined forces in a 9-7 victory at second doubles.

Cannon and James Wright II (Solebury, Pa.) posted an 8-6 win in third doubles match up for Connecticut College.
