Duarte Places Third in 1000 Meters for Camels at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--The Connecticut College men's track and field team visited Wesleyan University to compete in their second invitational of the New Year.

Senior Andrew Duarte (Rocky Hill, Conn.) paced the Camels with a third place finish in the 1000 meters, setting a personal record while qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference and New England Division III Championship with a time of 2:33.01.

In the 800 meter run, junior Mike LeDuc (Canton, Conn.) placed second with a time of 1:59.48 for Connecticut College, earning an invitation to the New England Division III Championship.

The Camels added two more third place scores Saturday. Senior Tim Murtagh (Rowley, Mass.) posted a time of 9:03.05 en route to his third place scoring in the 3000 meters. In the 4x800 meter relay, Brad DeMarco (Weston, Conn.), Niall Williams (Niskayuna, N.Y., Ian Rathkey (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Patrick Dermody (Erieville, N.Y.)  teamed up for a third place scoring with a time of 8:30.00.
