LeDuc (10,000 Meters) and Cole (5000 Meters) Post Wins at Home Invitational for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College men's track and field team hosted the Camel Invitational at the Silfen Track and Field Complex Saturday.

Junior All-American Mike LeDuc (Canton, Conn.) and senior Tristan Cole (St. Helen, Calif.) posted wins to lead the Camels to a fourth place finish in the six team field with a score of 76 points.

Westfield State University piled up 264 points to win the invitational. The Coast Guard Bears scored 156 points to finish second with Keene State College taking third with 118 points. Wesleyan scored 37 points to finish behind the Camels in fifth and the Blazers Elms College finished sixth.

In the 10,000 meters, LeDuc qualified for the New England Division III and All-New England Championship with a winning time of 32:26.33. Cole posted a time of 15:46.16 en route to his triumph in the 5000 meter run.

Senior Ian Rathkey (Old Lyme, Conn.) placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.58.

Sophomore Patrick Dermody (Erieville, N.Y.) and senior Tim Murtagh (Rowley, Mass.) finished in second and third place behind LeDuc in the 10000 with respective times of 32:55.69 and 33:12.17 for Connecticut College.
