EASTON, Mass.--Connecticut College freshman Nick Fischetti (Groton, Mass.) visited Stonehill College to compete in the decathlon at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (D .1, 2, 3) outdoor track and field and championship this weekend.
Fischetti set a personal record with a 10th place score of 4752 points in an impressive showing against New England's top brass. He also set personal records in five of the 10 events for the Camels. Fischetti's personal records occurred in the 100 meters (11.93 seconds), the long jump (17 feet, 11 inches), the shot put (32 feet, seven and three quarters of an inch), the 110 meter hurdles (18.14 seconds) and in the pole vault (10 feet, 10 inches.).
In the high jump, Fischetti reached his apex at five feet, five and one quarter of an inch. He posted a time of 55.44 seconds in the 400 meter dash. Fischetti threw the discus 84, feet, six inches. He threw the javelin 107 feet flat. In the 1500 meter run, Fischetti posted a time of 5:34.37 for Connecticut College.
