Fischetti Sets School Record in Heptathlon for Camels
MEDFORD, Mass..--(Photo of Nick Fischetti Provided by Kevin Morris/Kevin Morris.com) Connecticut College sophomore Nick Fischetti of Groton, Mass. scored 3751 points en route to his seventh place scoring to set a school record in the heptathlon at the Wesleyan University Invitational Saturday.
The rest of the team competed at Wesleyan.
The Camels had two winners Saturday. Sophomore Brad DeMarco (Weston, Conn.) posted a time of 2:38.42 to win the 1000 meter run. In the 3000 meters, Niall Williams (Scotia, N.Y.) posted a time of 9:00.95 to pull out the victory.
In the 800 meter run, senior Ian Rathkey (Old Lyme, Conn.) placed second with a time of 2:01.75.
Geoffrey Pendergast (Weston, Mass.) chipped in with a third place finish in the 400 meter dash, posting a time of 53.64 seconds for Connecticut College.
