BOSTON, Mass.—(Photo of Niall Williams Shot by Kevin Morris/Kevin Morris.com) The Connecticut College men's indoor track and field squad made the trip up Commonwealth Avenue to compete in the Boston University Valentine Invitational Saturday.
It was a productive weekend for the Camels. In the distance medley relay, the Camels set a school record, finishing fourth overall and moving up to #2 on the NCAA Performance list with a time of 9:57.30. Ben Bosworth (Dorchester, Mass.), Ian Rathkey (Old Lyme, Conn.), Niall Williams (Scotia, N.Y.) and Michael LeDuc (Canton, Conn.) teamed up for the record setting finish.
In the one-mile run, LeDuc moved up to #2 on the NCAA Performance list with a school record finish in 4:05.27. LeDuc is still ranked #1 in the 5000 meters and fourth in the 3000 meters.
Williams and Bosworth finished with respective times of 4:19.31 and 4:20.11 in the mile, earning invitations to the New England Division III and Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships with their finishes.
In the 500 meter dash, Geoffrey Pendergast (Weston, Mass.) and Rathkey finished with respective times of 1:06.62 and 1:07.00 to earn invitations to the New England Division III and ECAC Championship.
