MEDFORD, Mass.--Senior Nick Fischetti (pictured, Groton, Mass.) scored 3848 points in the heptathlon to set a Connecticut College school record at the Tufts University Stampede in Medford, Mass. this weekend.
Fischetti placed fifth in the event. He has established himself as one of the greatest field athletes to attend the College. In the triple jump, Chris Conner (Groton, Mass.) covered a distance of 12.48 meters to place third for the Camels.
Meanwhile across the river at the Boston University Terrier Classic, the Camels set two more school records. Sophomore Connor Trapp (Wilmette, Ill.) posted a time of 1:54.12 in the 800 meter run, besting the previous mark that was established by Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Famer Colin Corkery back in 1981. Trapp will move onto the national performance list with his time. He qualified for the New England Division III, the ECAC and the All-New England Championship.
In the 4x400 meter relay, Arlo Siegel (Florence, Mass.), Christian Whitaker (Dolton, Ill.), Andrew Peterson (Wallingford, Conn.) and Trapp broke a school record that was set last year with a time of 3:28.99. In the one mile run, senior Niall Williams (Scotia, N.Y.) qualified for the New England Division III Championship with a time of 4:20.61. In the 3000 meter run, junior Ben Bosworth (Dorchester, Mass.) qualified for the New England Division and the ECAC Championship with a time of 8:38.
