BOSTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College distance medley relay team comprised of Niall Williams, Christian Whitaker (pictured), Connor Trapp and Ben Bosworth posted a school record time of 9:56.82 at the Boston University Valentine Invitational this weekend, placing fourth while establishing the fastest time in all of Division III.
The Camels finished behind Syracuse University, Florida State University and American International College (D. II).
In the 4x400 meter relay, Nick Fischetti (Groton, Mass.), Whitaker, Arlo Siegel (Florence, Mass.) and Andrew Peterson (Wallingford, Conn.) broke another school record with a time of 3:26.30. In the one-mile run, Williams earned a spot on the national performance list, setting a personal record with a time of 4:14.82. Other notable performances in the mile included; Bosworth setting a personal record in 4:15.32, Price Day (Harvard, Mass.) posting a time of 4:23.18, Ryan Dean (Leeds, Mass.) setting a personal record in 4:34.13, Sam McKeown (South Windsor, Conn.) setting a personal record in 4:36.39, Kyle Hawk (Napa, Calif.) setting a personal record in 4:39.13 and Raymond Rich-Fiondella (North Haven, Conn.) posting a time of 4:44.56.
In the 800 meters, Trapp posted a time of 1:54.23. Jordan Comeau (Winchendon, Mass.) checked in with a time of 2:05.69 in the 800. Peterson set a personal record with a time of 1:07.85 in the 500 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash, Whitaker posted a time of 23.39 seconds, setting a personal record along the way.
Fischetti and Siegel finished with respective times of 52.16 and 53.09 seconds in the 400 meter dash.
Over at MIT, senior Dan Gossels (Sudbury, Mass.) set a personal record in the 3000 meters, placing sixth with a time of 9:28.16. Blake O'Neal (Houston, Texas) set a personal record with a time of 7.60 seconds.
