Fischetti Shatters His Own School Record to Lead Camels at New England Division 3 Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Connecticut College senior Nick Fischetti of Groton, Mass. scored 5364 points to break his own school record with a sixth place finish in the decathlon at the New England Division III Championship hosted by Springfield College this weekend. Fischetti eclipse his prior record by 35 points for the Camels.

Connecticut College scored 14 points to placed 20th at the Championship.

In the 1500 meter run, senior Niall Williams of Scotia, N.Y. and sophomore Connor Trapp of Wilmette, Ill. posted times of 3:55.94 and 3:56.97 to place third and fourth for Connecticut College.

Junior Alejandro Hernandez of Miami, Fla. set a personal record in the 10,000 meter run, posting a time of 32:45.18 for the Camels.

All of the aforementioned Camels that placed in the top eight of their event were recognized as All-New England Division III performers.
