MEDFORD, Mass.--Connecticut College junior Andrew Peterson (Wallingford, Conn.) placed third in the 600 meter dash with a time of 1:24.41 at the Tufts University Cupid Challenge this afternoon, earning an invitation to the New England Division III Championship.
In the 5,000 meter run, Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) placed third with a time of 14:51.38, earning invitations to the New England Division III as well as the NEICAAA (All-New England including D. 1, 2, 3) Championships. Running just a couple of minutes away from his alma-mater at Cambridge Ringe & Latin, Aschale, vaulted his way up to 12th place on the national performance list.
Sophomore Scott Mason (Wyndmoor, Pa.) posted a time of 15:12.21 to place eighth in the 5000. He is ranked #36 on the national performance list and will join Aschale at the two aforementioned championships. Sophomore Price Day (Harvard, Mass.) placed eighth in the one-mile run with a time of 4:24.39. It was a fastest enough finish to earn Day an invitation to the New England Division III Championship.
Senior Zander Mintz (East Windsor, N.J.) posted a time of 15:24.24 to earn an invitation to the New England Division III Championship in the 5,000 meters.
