BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) posted one of the 10 fastest times in the country in the 3,000-meter run to lead the Connecticut College men's track & field team at Boston University's Valentine Invitational over the weekend.
Aschale completed the 3,000 in 8:18.90, which ranks ninth nationally. The junior also ended the weekend with the 30th-fastest Division III time in the 5,000.
Other notable performances were made by sophomore Ian McAleer (Newfields, N.H.) in the 200 as well as freshman Ben Vazquez (Millington, N.J.) and junior Jacob Brill-Weil (Cambridge, Mass.) in the 800. McAleer broke the school record in the 200 by navigating the track in 22.55 seconds, while Vazquez and Brill-Weil notched 800 times of 1:55.76 and 1:57.63, respectively.
Connecticut College will compete at one additional non-championship meet when it treks to Springfield College for the Triangle Classic on Saturday, Feb. 16.
