Heros Honored as CWPA Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week for Camels
 
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior Carlos Heros (Miami, Fla.) has been honored as the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Mid-Atlantic Conference Player of the Week.

Heros had 16 goals and five earned exclusions in three victories for the Connecticut College men's water polo team this weekend.

Heros scored seven goals in a 15-12 victory against Monmouth. He had six goals and five earned kick outs in a 14-10 win against Division I La Salle. He added a hat-trick in a 14-13 triumph against the Lakers from Mercyhurst.

Sophomore Jake Smith of Baltimore, Md. had 15 saves and one assist in two key victories for the Camels, earning a spot on the Defensive Weekly Honor Roll.

Smith made 10 saves in three quarters of action in goal to lead the Camels past Mercyhurst College Saturday. He added one assist in the win against the Lakers

He made five stops in a 15-12 win against the Monmouth Fighting Scots Sunday.
