NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior Carlos Heros (Miami, Fla.) has been honored as the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Mid-Atlantic Conference Player of the Week again. Classmate Henry McMillan (Chapel Hill, N.C.) was recognized on the defensive weekly honor roll for the Camels.
Heros put up a baker's dozen on the scoreboard at the Division III Championship for the Camels (9-13). He had five goals and seven earned ejections to lead the Camels past Washington & Jefferson in the first round. In the semifinal win against the Fighting Scots of Monmouth, Heros scored five goals while adding two field blocks.
Heros recorded a hat-trick with three more goals in the Championship match against MIT, adding four earned ejection. Heros has scored 73 goals to lead the Camels offensively this fall. He's also contributed with eight assists, 32 steals, 14 field blocks and 49 earned ejections.
McMillan sparked the Camels to two victories in the Division III Championship with some stellar play at both ends of the pool. Saturday, McMillan collected four steals while scoring twice the victory against Washington & Jefferson College. He scored a critical goal with 1:32 remaining in regulation to add some much needed insurance for the Camels.
In the semifinals, McMillan chipped in with a goal against Monmouth to help the Camels advance to their first Division III Championship match in program history. McMillan has accounted for 23 goals, 17 assists, 38 steals, a pair of field blocks and eight earned ejections.
