NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College juniors Stephan Cress (pictured, Rockford, Mich.) and Matthew Wagman (Atlanta, Ga.) along with senior Carlos Heros (Miami, Fla.) are all receiving recognition this week on the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Mid-Atlantic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
After winning just one match a year ago, the upstart Camels (11-15) continued their run of success this week by taking two out of three matches at MAC West Conference Championship in Erie, Pa, making their inaugural appearance in the conference championship match.
Cress exploded with 13 goals in the three matches. The junior All-American erupted with eight scores in the semifinal round lead the Camels past Salem International in a 19-15 triumph. Heros chipped in with eight goals for the Camels in the three matches. Both Cress and Heros were recognized on the All-Tournament Team for their superlative efforts.
Wagman made his presence felt in the cage, coming up with 21 saves in the three matches.
The Camels are preparing for the Mid-Atlantic Conference Championship that will be hosted by Bucknell University November 18-20.
Connecticut College will clash with the Bison from Bucknell in a first round match up Friday, November 18 at 3:00 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa.
