WESTFIELD, Mass.--Michael LeDuc (Canton, Conn.) placed fourth in a field of 351 runners with a time of 24:57 at the New England Division III Championship hosted by Westfield State University Saturday to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship. LeDuc, an All-American in Outdoor Track and Field (Steeplechase) for the past two years, will visit the Hoosier State of Indiana with Head Men's Cross Country Coach Jim Butler to compete in the NCAA Championship at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The Camels enjoyed their finest New England Division III Regional Championship in recent history, placing eighth in the 54 team field with a score of 256 points. They finished just six points behind seventh place finishing Wesleyan.
"This was one of the greatest team efforts I've ever experienced at Connecticut College," Coach Butler said. "All seven guys had their best race of the season today. I'm very proud of what they accomplished for the College and I am looking forward to what Michael can accomplish at NCAAs."
Middlebury College placed three of its runners among the top 19 in the field to win the Division III Crown with a score of 91 points.
