Camels are Co-Winners of Trinity College Invitational

MANCHESTER, Conn--The Connecticut College men's cross country team placed three of its runners among the top nine to finish in a first place tie with Westfield State University in the season opening Trinity College Invitational at Wickham Park Saturday.

The Camels and Owls scored 58 points each to top the nine team field of competition.

Trinity College placed third on its home course with a score of 71 points while the Yellow Jackets from American International College landed in fourth place with 74 points.

Other finishing teams included: New Haven (127), Eastern Connecticut State University (152), Regis (206), Post (206) and Army Prep who placed ninth with a score of 256 points on the 5k course.

Freshman Connor Trapp (Wilmette, Ill.) posted a time of 17:32 to pace the Camels in seventh place. Alejandro Hernandez (Miami, Fla.) placed eighth with a time of 17:43.  Jordan Comeau (Winchendon, Mass.) posted a time of 17:47 to finish in ninth place.

Junior Brad DeMarco (Weston, Conn.) finished in 14th place for the Camels with a time of 18:07.  Raymond Rich-Fiondella (North Haven, Conn.) posted a time of 18:27 to finish in 20th place for Connecticut College. Dan Gossels (Sudbury, Mass.) was next in 26th place with a time of 18:49.

Ryan Dean (Leeds, Mass.) rounded out the top seven for the Camels, posting a time of 19:08 en route to a 36th place showing.
