Camels Place 3rd in 43 Team UMass-Dartmouth Invitational
Bosworth Places Third in Field of 324 Harriers as Top Division III Finisher
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--Connecticut College junior co-captain Ben Bosworth of Dorchester, Mass. posted a time of 25:18 to place third in the field of 324 runners at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday.
Bosworth was the top Division III finisher in the field as the top two runners represented Northeast 10 institutions from Division II.
The Camels placed third in the 43 team field with a score of 125 points. The Judges from Brandeis University placed four of their runners among the top 30 in the field to win the invitational with a score of 93 points. Division II entry East Stroudsburg University took second place with a score of 116 points.
Senior co-captain Niall Williams (Scotia, N.Y.) had a productive day in the Bay State, finishing in 25th place with a time of 26:05. Junior Zander Mintz (East Windsor, N.J.) posted a time of 26:16 in a 30th place finish for the Camels. Sophomore Jordan Comeau (Winchendon, Mass.) placed 34th with a time of 26:22 for Connecticut College.
Junior Alejandro Hernandez (Miami, Fla.), a 2015 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, finished in 48th place with a time of 26:40. Sophomore Connor Trapp (Wilmette, Ill.) posted a time of 26:57 to finish in 66th place for the Camels. Senior Dan Gossels (Sudbury, Mass.) placed 93rd as the seventh Camel scorer with a time of 27:23.
In the sub-varsity race, the Camels placed fourth out of 19 teams with a score of 109 points. Freshmen Price Day (Harvard, Mass.) and Kyle Hawk (Napa, Calif.) ran first and second at the top of the field of 200 runners, finishing with respective times of 26:32 and 26:35.
