Seven Camel Sailors Earn ICSA All-Academic Laurels

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Connecticut College sailing programs had seven student-athletes who were recognized as ICSA All-Academic Sailing Team selections during the 2016-17 academic year. The announcement was made by the national organization on Thursday, Aug. 17.

The sailors recognized included Charlotte List (Fair Haven, N.J.), Emilia Clementi (Venice Beach, Calif.), Hugh MacGillivray (Portsmouth, R.I.), Rebecca Quirke (Rye, N.Y.), Albert Rodiger (Hingham, Mass.), Eliza Garry (Marblehead, Mass.) and Alexandra Maurillo (Shelter Island, N.Y.).

The criteria for the honorees are that he or she must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university sponsored regattas.

A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors. This year's All-Academic Team is comprised of 223 members.
