BOSTON, Mass. – The Connecticut College sailing team raced at three different regattas over the weekend.
The program's top performance was a 12th-place finish among 18 schools at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy regatta hosted by Brown. Led by junior Carter Pemberton (Osterville, Mass.), the Camels were 10th in the A Division with sophomore Liz Davis (Naples, Fla.) and freshman Walter Henry (Syosset, N.Y.) also contributing to the effort.
Members of the coed team also competed at the Hood Trophy regatta hosted by Tufts. Sophomore Lucie Welles as well as freshmen William Bedford and Harris Padegs (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished 11th among 22 groups to help the program place eighth among 11 schools overall.
The women's sailing team had a long trek to northern New England to compete in the Mrs. Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth. The Camels placed 16th overall and were paced by freshman Alex Wagner (Southport, Conn.) and sophomore Molly Weiner (Mamanoneck, N.Y.).
The Connecticut College coed sailing program will next compete at the Danmark Trophy regatta, which will be hosted by Coast Guard, on Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30.
