ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Connecticut College coed and women's sailing programs competed at two more regattas over the weekend.

The coed program produced the best result, finishing sixth among 19 schools at the Truxtun Umsted Coed Showcase on the Severn River in Maryland. Freshmen Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.), Gordon Gurnell (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and Walter Henry (Syosset, N.Y.) as well as sophomore Lucie Welles (Ross, Calif.) led the Camels by placing fifth in the B Division with 95 points.

In addition, the women's program competed at a regatta hosted by Yale which was cut short due to windy conditions. The program finished 14th among 14 competing teams at the two-day event. Freshman Ana Clarkson (Seattle, Wash.), senior Erin Smith (Hanover, Mass.), freshman Alex Wagner (Southport, Conn.), and sophomores Molly Weiner (Mamanoneck, N.Y.) and Charlotte Williams (Cambridge, Mass.) represented the Camels until unfavorable weather conditions ended the races shortly before noon on Sunday.

Connecticut College will wrap up its fall season next weekend. The coed team will compete at the Erwin Schell Trophy regatta at Dartmouth, and the women's program will race at the Urn Trophy Regatta at Bowdoin.
