NEW LONDON, Conn.—Carlee Smith poured in 17 points, connecting on 7-of-8 shots from the field to lead the Connecticut College women's basketball team to a 64-56 victory against Bates College Saturday.
The Camels improved their record to 12-7 with a 4-2 mark in the NESCAC, while the Bobcats slipped to 7-13 with a 0-6 mark in conference play.
Caitlin Cimino was 6-for-10 from the floor en route to her 12 point, eight rebound effort in the front court. Willa McKinley provided some instant offense with 11 points off the bench. Senior Tara Gabelman finished with nine points and 10 boards for the winning side.
Bates College senior Meredith Kelly poured in a game-high 24 points and ripped down nine rebounds to lead the visitors. Allaina Murphy had 12 points and eight rebounds for Bates.
Bates will return to action Friday night for a 6:00 p.m. NESCAC game at Williams College.
The Camels will host Eastern Connecticut State Tuesday night for a 6:00 p.m. game.
