MADISON, N.J.--Liz Malman (Mendham, N.J.) netted the 1,000th point of her prolific playing career in the second half to lead the Connecticut College women's basketball team to a 61-51 victory at Drew University today. Watch the clip here.
"This was a very special day for Liz," Connecticut College Head Women's Basketball Coach Brian Wilson said. "She became the 13th player in our program's history to reach 1,000 career points and to do it during a win at Drew in front of so many friends and family members made it even more amazing. She has meant so much and given so much to our program over these four years and we are all so proud of her accomplishment."
Sophomores Payton Ouimette (Medfield, Mass.) and Meg Corcoran (Milton, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points each. Ouimette had 11 rebounds while Corcoran finished with six. Junior Mairead Hynes (Mahopac, N.Y.) contributed with eight points and 10 rebounds for the visitors.
Senior forward Sam Lane (Commack, N.Y.) had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Rangers in the setback. Senior guard Courtney Trzasko (Berlin, Conn.) chipped in with 11 points. Ryan Jackson ( Freehold, N.J.) had nine points and four rebound in the contest.
The Camels will take a break for exams and the holidays. They will resume play January 3 with a 6:00 p.m. game at Mitchell.
