Pagano Honored as NESCAC Player of the Week for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College first year defender Jane Pagano of Erie, Pa. has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Hockey Player of the Week.

Pagano had two goals and an assist to help lead the Camels to a 1-1 record last week. Pagano scored power-play goals in each of the first two periods against Williams Saturday. She shares the team lead with nine goals scored and ranks fifth among NESCAC defenders in offensive production with 14 points.

"Jane has helped to provide a strong offensive presence from the blue-line," Connecticut College Head Women's Hockey Coach Kristin Steele said.  "Her hands give us a big boost.  Partnered with Julie Beattie for the majority of her shifts they have been a formidable tandem."

Connecticut College will be making its seventh consecutive appearance in the NESCAC Championship next weekend at Middlebury.

The Camels and Panthers will face-off Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Kenyon Arena.
