NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Amherst College women's hockey team secured a 1-0 victory at Connecticut College in the first of a two-game NESCAC series being played at Dayton Arena this weekend.
Jocelyn Hunyadi (Pepper Pike, Ohio) scored a power play goal with three seconds remaining in the opening period that would prove to be the difference. Caroline Bomstein (Washington, D.C.) and Brenna Sullivan (Lockport, Ill.) both contributed with assists for Amherst.
Sophomore Sabrina Dobbins (Bedford, N.H.) stopped 19 shots for the visitors in the blanking.
Connecticut College junior net-minder Katherine Chester (Mendham, N.J.) collected 15 of her 31 saves in the third period.
Amherst and Connecticut College will meet again tomorrow afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. game here in New London.
