NEW LONDON, Conn.--Junior Lauren Bishop (Wellesley, Mass.) scored the difference making goal in the second period to help lead the Connecticut College women's hockey team to a 4-2 victory against Trinity College at Dayton Arena Friday night.
The Camels improved their record to 3-5-1 with a 1-3-1 mark in the NESCAC in the triumph. The Bantams fell to 4-6 and are still winless (0-5) in conference play.
Junior Ashley Anctil (Manchester, N.H.) was a welcome return to the forward line and potted her second score of the season. Junior Steph Izzi (West Cornwall, Conn.) supplied her sixth goal of the season with an empty netter in the closing moments of the third.
Katherine Chester (Mendham, N.J.) made 34 saves in goal for the Camels.
Delaney Harrop (Walpole, Mass.) and Melissa Maffeo (Melrose, Mass.) potted power play goals for the Bantams.
Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) turned aside 28 of 31 shots she faced in goal for the visitors.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow for a 3:00 p.m. showdown in the Whaling City.
