NEW LONDON, Conn.--For the second consecutive Monday, Connecticut College junior net-minder Katherine Chester of Mendham, N.J. has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Hockey Player of the Week.
Chester posted three more shutouts this week for the surging Camels, who have opened the New Year with six consecutive wins.
Chester opened the week with a 38 save effort in a 2-0 win at UMass-Boston Tuesday. She added 19 saves in a 2-0 win against Wesleyan Friday before closing out the sweep of the Cardinals with 25 stops in a 3-0 triumph Saturday.
The Camels have outscored their opponents 22-3 in the month of January.
Chester ranks third in the nation with a .959 save percentage. She is also tied for seventh in the country with a 1.27 goals against average and is in a sixth place tie with her four shutouts.
Chester and the Camels will visit Williams College Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. game in Williamstown, Mass.
