RYE, N.Y.--Jordan Cross (Saugus, Mass.) sandwiched a goal around two assists to lead the Connecticut College women's hockey team in a 6-0 blanking of Manhattanville College at the Playland Ice Casino Tuesday night.
The Camels moved to 8-7-1 with the triumph while the Valiants fell to 6-11 with the loss.
Junior defense-woman Julie Beattie (Livonia, Mich.) and rookie forward Elena Gualtieri (Rome, N.Y.) both contributed with a goal and an assist for the winning side. Sophomore forward Meghan Lembo (Southington, Conn.), Anna Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Michaela Igo (Sandwich, Mass.) all contributed with scores for the Camels. Olivia Good (Woodbury, Conn.) doled out two assists for Connecticut College.
Katherine Chester (Mendham, N.J.) posted her fifth shutout of the season, turning aside 15 shots in the blanking. Chester has moved into a four-way tie for fifth place in the nation with the five shutouts and is in a three-way tie for save percentage (.950), ranking fifth nationally.
Sophomore Megan Messuri (Stoneham, Mass.) finished with 35 saves in the setback for the Valiants.
