WATERVILLE, Maine -- Connecticut College's Katherine Chester showed why she is one of the top goalies in the league with 34 saves to help the Camels to a 2-1 NESCAC women's hockey win over Colby College on Saturday.
The Camels, who also won 2-1 on Friday against the Mules, are 12-7-1 overall and 6-5-1 in the conference. Colby drops to 5-13-3 overall and 3-10-2 in the league.
The Mules had a 35-18 shot advantage in the game, but Chester made 13 saves in the first period and 13 more in the third. She is first in the NESCAC in save percentage.
Colby opened the scoring with a short-handed goal by Bre Davis at 6:22 of the second period. Davis moved her season goal total to five.
Izzi evened up her season totals with her ninth goal of the season at 1:32 of the third period.
The Camels had just three shots in the final 20 minutes, but got the important goal.
Angelica Crites stopped 16 shots for the Mules.
