Beattie Named to All-Star Team by New England Hockey Writers

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College junior assistant captain Julie Beattie of Livonia, Mich., a graduate of Livonia High School, has been honored by the New England Hockey Writers on the Division II/III All-Star Team.

This year's banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass. The banquet will start at 6 p.m. All awards and All-Star teams will be presented at the gala. All coaches, student-athletes, family members and friends are encouraged to attend Wednesday's banquet. Beattie was honored on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) First Team last month.

Beattie was a leader in the defensive corps for a team that ranked third in team defense in the conference, limiting opponents to 1.62 goals per game. Beattie and the Camels celebrated their first home NESCAC post-season victory with a 3-0 triumph against Hamilton College February 27.

Beattie was the second ranked scoring defense-woman in the NESCAC with 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists).
