NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior Tina Balzotti of Duxbury, Mass. has been named to Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Berkshires Region Second Team for the second consecutive year.
A captain and leader at the attack position, Balzotti proved to be one of the most explosive offensive players for the Camels in recent history. Balzotti tallied her 100th point to lead the Camels past Eastern Connecticut State March 28. She exploded with 46 goals scored her senior year to finish third in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) while ranking ninth in the conference with 48 points.
With her 108 collegiate markers, Balzotti finished up her career tied for eighth place on the program's scoring list with Katelyn Driscoll '12 of Peabody, Mass. She doled out 22 assists to finish in 12th place in the Camels' annals with 128 points.
Balzotti was named to the IWLCA Zag Sports All-Academic Team this past year and has been honored on the NESCAC All-Academic squad for her excellence in the classroom in each of the past two years. Balzotti received the 2016 Charles and Ruth Polan Internship Award from the College. She will receive her degree in Government this spring.
