Connecticut College Varsity Four Wins Bronze Medal at New England Rowing Championship

WORCESTER, Mass.--The Connecticut College women's rowing team competed in the New England Rowing Championship on Lake Quinsigomond in Worcester Saturday.

Under the direction of Head Coach Eva Kovach, the Camels had a successful day on the water. 

In the varsity four grand finale, the Camels brought home a bronze medal to New London with their third place showing in 8:09.

Bowdoin College won the gold medal with a time of 7:45 with the Lord Jeffs from Amherst College earning silver in 7:58. 

Val Goldstein (Brookline, Mass.), a 2014 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar guided the Camels as the coxswain.

Sophomore Annie Speranza (Hopkinton, Mass.) led the Camels in the stroke seat. 

Lindsay Cook (Carlisle, Mass.) and Caroline Cranna (Needham, Mass.) were joined by Natalie Calhoun (San Francisco, Calif.) in the bow seat.

The Camels posted a time of 7:49 to finish fifth in the novice eight regatta. 

In the women's novice four, the Camels placed fifth with a time of 9:06. The Camels placed sixth in the second varsity four regatta with a time of 8:42.
