WORCESTER, Mass.--The Connecticut College men's and women's rowing teams visited Central Massachusetts today to compete in a regatta on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Camels posted two wins today and are building momentum as they move closer to championship season.
In the women's varsity four, the Camels posted a winning time of 7:32 for Head Coach Eva Kovach's squad. Bowdoin College placed second with a time of 7:37. Clark University (8:02.26) and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (9:38.72) finished in third and fourth place in the regatta.
In the women's novice eight, the Camels posted a winning time of 7:46 to edge out the Cougars from Clark University (7:50) and Bowdoin (8:42).
In the women's second varsity four regatta, the Camels placed second behind Bowdoin with a time of 8:16. The Polar Bears won the regatta with a time of 8:08. The Buccaneers from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy placed third with a time of 10:02.05.
In the women's novice four regatta, Bowdoin posted a winning time of 7:55. Connecticut College placed second in 8:17 with the Purple and White from Amherst College taking third place in 8:28.
The Camel women placed fourth in the varsity eight regatta with a time of 7:15 today.
In the men's varsity four regatta, Connecticut College finished ahead of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in fourth place with a time of 7:35. Bowdoin won the regatta in 6:55. Clark University was second in 7:06 while the Leopards from the Wentworth Institute of Technology finished third in 7:13.
